Fudemoji
Learn Japanese by writing it.
Fudemoji is a stylus-first spaced repetition app for Japanese writing practice. It works with your own Anki decks and focuses on production, not just recognition.
// WHAT IT IS
What it is
Most review apps test whether you can recognize a character. Fudemoji tests whether you can write it. You see a prompt, write the answer by hand, reveal, and grade yourself, and the scheduler decides when you see it next. A trace mode is there for when you are still learning the stroke.
Low-latency canvas
A handwriting canvas tuned for stylus input, so writing feels immediate, not laggy.
Write, reveal, self-grade
The core loop: produce the answer by hand first, then reveal and grade honestly.
FSRS scheduling
A modern spaced-repetition scheduler decides timing, so reviews land when they help most.
Bring your own decks
Import your existing .apkg Anki decks. Your content, a writing-first review mode.
Local-first storage
Your progress lives on your device first, so practice works offline and stays yours.
Trace mode
Follow the stroke while you are learning it, then turn it off once you can write it cold.
Language-agnostic engine
Japanese is the first target, but the engine does not assume it. Other scripts can follow.
Fudemoji is built around production recall, not just recognition. You write first, then grade, every time.
